Even in the last week of school before Christmas, Grade 6/7's work like crazy! Not only did students work on vocabulary and connections for our class novel Refugee, but we converted the price of seeds from US dollars to Cnd, and then calculated the price per seed in different package amounts. Students rounded numbers to the thousandths and hundredths place, and learned that for seed packages (M) means a 1000. Lots of learning and garden planning! Tomorrow we will compare two seed companies, Johnny's Select Seeds (US) with P.E.I.'s own Vesey's Seed Company, and will decide which seed varieties might not only be cost effective, but correct for our climate!
