Art Cards

Original post, June 2024: As a legacy project, my students had the idea to transform some of their artwork into thank-you cards for visiting guests and community leaders. They used their chalk drawings, inspired by Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell, illustrated by Rafael Lopez, along with a watercolor lesson we did together. The students created several beautiful designs, which I photocopied and presented to our administration team. I wish I could share every card—they’re all so well done! Building a sense of community is important to me as a teacher, and I’m grateful to support these amazing Grade 6/7 students as they learn the value of recognizing and appreciating the service of others. Currently I am away from my school, but I will add more photos when I return!
